Mrs. Frank Powell gave a recital last Saturday evening presenting her pupils in an entertaining program. The Friday Bridge Club met yes terday afternoon at the home of Mrs. F. C. Pate. Mrs. O. D. Austin and Mrs. A. Austin were complimented guests to enjoy an afternoon of Bridge completed with a dainty lunch. 9 0 9 Mrs. G. A. Flood was hostess yes terday afternoon to the Twentieth Century Club. Mrs. Gustav Abra ham and Mrs. Charles H. Wiedcr were taken into the club as new mem bers. Refreshments completed the afternoon. A unique program was 'ivrn during the evening and uicrri ment prevailed. la Wednesday evening the staff of the popular college paper, the Orange Peal, gave a basket social in the First t Presbyterian church, raising money in the interest of their paper. m m m Miss Willrlla Wright is in the city and w-il spend several months here. She came recently from her home stead near Drewaey. The Shakespeare Club's annual so la) gathering and entertainment for the members and their husbands was eld last night at the home of Dr. nd Mrs. W H. Davis, a delightful ffair. During the evening the mem bers presented some tableaux and short representations of prominent plays, such as the death scene in Othello, three scenes in Romeo and Juliet, the casket scene in the Mer chant of Venice. Lady Macbeth wash ing her bloody hands and the sleeping accuc in Midsummer Nights Dream. Those taking the different parts were Mrs. Davis. Mrs. A. C. Schmitt. Mrs. J. D. Summers. Mra. J. F Watson. Mrs. Bray, Mrs. L G. Lewelling, Mrs W. C. Burkhart ar.d Mrs. Nutting. There were also vocal solos by Mrs Davis. Mrs. Watson. Mr. Watson. Mrs. Nutting and Piatt Adams Davis. and piano solos by Mary.
