Longest Trout
There seems to be a contest going
on in the valley in landing long trout.
A McKcnzie man pulled out one 25
inches long. Corvallis beat this had,
but had to come to Linn county to' do
it, getting a 28 inch trout out of the
Crahlree. Bciidcs that he had three
or four men along to keep up his
courage while lie was landing the
brute. In the meantime, what are Al
bany uitnrodi doing for the rep. of
the city.
Caught a Salmon
Harry Powell, (.Eugene man, yes
terday caught a 27 1-2 pound salmon
in the Willamette, with a trouupin
ncr, taking 53 miniates to land the
fish. It was 44 inches long. Just why
Oregon City people allowed it to pass
the falls hat not been learned.
Funeral
The funeral of H. A. Hecker will he
held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock,
at the Catholic church, to which all
friends are invited.

rill, of Orange, Calif., and Miss Min
nie C. Johnson, of East Hampton,
Conn., were united in marriage by
Rev. D. G. Pitt. The groom is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Merrill, of this
city, and a native of Albany, a young
man of splendid character, who is
making a success of his profession,
'and the bride is highly spoken of.
They left immediately for Orange,
where they will make their home.

Claiming that plaintiff has violat
