OR WE BOTH LOSE MONEY 22 STORES "BATTLE CRY OF PEACE" COMING HERE TOMORROW The appearance of "The Battle Cr y of t'eace at the Rolfe Theatre Wednesday and Thursday is an event extraordinary in the moving picture world. This is the greatest picture yet staged and has taken the country by storm. Army and navy men en dorse it and every patriot is a strong advocate of it. While the horrors of war are most startliugly shown there is a pretty love story running through the play that takes off the tang of powder and shot for the time being. In fact the play is a combination of alt sorts of situations and a certain amount of humor creeps in here and there. "The Battle Cry of Teace" is a rphoto spectacle with a mission. It was written and produced by J. Stuart Blackton, president of the Vitagraph company, in an effort to wake in every American a desire to protect his loved ones. The story, based on Hudson Maxim's book, "Defenseless Ameri ca." is educational in its description of submarines, aeroplanes, torpedo boats and other implements of v.-ar-fare. It compares America to other countries and shows with a clearness the comparative size of our army ami navy, nudson Maxim appears, and by means of small models illustrates on the screen the needs of our coun try. The idea that "power spells peace" was driven home with a will. Pcace-at-any-price advocates were ridiculed and the fallacy of their position shown up. The first part of the film is with out doubt one of the most dramatic productions ever given in this city. ADVERTISE IN THE DEMOCRAT IT PAYS HUB Sptcial today and Tomorrow : "GRAFT" J.
