' Fishing With Banjo A man left this morning for up the Corvattis and Eastern, said to he bound for Detroit, or perhaps Hoov er, on a fishing trip. He carried 4 fish pole and banjo. Just what he was going to do with the fish pol? was not known, but an ingenuous Al bany barber figured out that he was going to sit on the bank of the river up there, play the banjo and await results. Now a banjo has a jerky kind of tune, and it was thought the fish erman could thus jerk the fish out without the trouble of taking a shin gle and slapping grasshoppers down. , or a hoe and hoeing angle worms for ! the business. K. of Lebanon Captain Kuhn. of Lebanon, moving picture magnate there, was in town today, coming down with a friend in an auto. Mr. Kuhn is a son-in-law of T. P. Hackleman. He got his title from being with the S. A. several years begore going into the moving picture business. Missionary to India Miss Emma Dean Anderson, who has bceu- a missionary to India for the past 34 years, and her sister. Mrs. Montgomery, left this morning for Portland, after spending several days here. She is touring the coast in the interest of missionary work in the United Presbyterian church. While' here they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hamilton. Back frm Crook County E. H. Kelly went to Thomas this morning where he expects to work for a few months. He is on his way down from Prineville. Mr. Kelly says thai the stock in Crook county are affected with hydrophobia and over 200 head of cattle have died of that disease during the winter. He ports having seen many dead coyotes on the prairies as he rode around herding cattle. Gone East With Body Mrs. G. M. Pardey left last evening for St. Joe. Missouri, with the remains of her husband's father, G. A. Pardey, who died here yesterday morning. Dr. Perdey will return to Mistotir ! as soon at business affairs will permit hmi to leave here. Will Visit in lows C. R Gerig left yesterday for Olds, Iowa, where lie will visit for a few weeks.
