If you will kindly allow me the space
in your paper 1 would like to give a de
scription of our trip and treatment
while in Corvallis last Saturday to play
foot ball.
AVe arrived there afout eleven o'clock
and wereimet by Measrs Bloas and Bur
nett manager and captain of the O A C

to the livery stable where our teams were
attended to, ihen we were taken to the
college where we left our grips, from
there wo were taken to the dormitory
where dinner was availing us. After
eating we went to the coHege where we
dressed for tin game which was called at
2 o'clock sharp. And of course as you
have already heard we fell ready victims
to our opponents and were easily beaten
ny the score of 112 to 0. The cause of our
defeat or the causo of onr being deleated
bo bad can bo explained in two or three
different ways bu the main cause was
the lack of practice and also to our weight
which waa on an average of about 130
while the 0 A 0 bovs averaged ltlS.so you
can see foryourself that they are too heavy
for us. Alter the game we were met 11V
Prof ISloss, President of the college, and
were shown through the building fiom
top to bottom and can Bay that it is a
structure that the state ought to be
proud ot. After leaving the college

after which were taken to Ritpper at the
hotel by the Hon Judge Burnett, who
hnd taken great interest in the game.
After Bupper we were invited to take part
in the evenings entertainment nt the
opera houso at which we bad a verv
pleasant time, and we also wish to titanic
Mr Horner for the way he assisted us
during the evening. After the enter
tainment we lelt for home where we ar
rived in due time 'all safe and sound our
selves but can't Bay eo much for one of
the carriages for it broke down about
miles out and and 1 lie boys bad to ride
rail the rest of the way.
We do not speak of or, give a descript
ion of the trip merely to tell jou what
we did but to show you the manner in
which we were treated. Heretofore when
we (the two colleges) have met there has
always been an unfriendly spirit existed
between us, we have met aa the old sav
ing is with blood in our eyes, but we can

will meet in a friendly way and show
our appreciation not by blows but by a

dent of Albany for a good many years
