New York, April 6. A thousand journey men paintars went on strike this morning, for the purpose of enforcing the demand of eight hours work per day at a rate of 83:50 psr day. Hitherto the men received $3 for eight hourt per day. Up 10 noon, according to the reports received at the strikers headquarters, at the Clarendon hotel, all but twenty five of the shops, out of eighty-five in which the demand was made, had yielded. .Some Klj le to It.
