Review. (Kill's. The weather conditions have been ex tremely favorable to growing crops and to harvesting operations. The hay crop has about all been housed ard it hts been more than was anticipated ; both quantity and quality arc about an average. Late wheat is lilling well, the meshes are quite large, the berry large and plump. The spring wheat will make a much better crop than was expected. Earlv wheat harvest is in (nil bbit and ibe iel'd is fully an average or more so. The' entire wheat crop of Oregon this vcar bids fair to be larger than ever before " Thousands of acres in Uma tilla and Union counlUs will average from 32 10 40 bushels per acre. The average number of bushels of wheat per acre will generally be secured, this together with the Increased acreage will produce the in creasedyleld. Barley, rye and oats are promising good yields. The weather has been cool for corn, though in Wasco coun ty it Is doing very well. In Benton coun ty some varieties of early peaches are ripe. In Jockson county the second crop of alfalfa Is being cut and the yield is unusu ally heavy. About Hardman, Morrow county, grass-hoppers are doing consider, able damtge. Sweet corn, peaches and melons arc now being shipped from TLe Dalles. The p.um and prune crop ts laige. ine codlin moth is doing damage, especially in Ihe Willamette Valley. Spraying the trees is proving beneficial. From every section 01 ine state come reports of good crops. 11. S. P.ui'E, Observer U. S. Signal Service. Assistant Director Oregon Weather I!ii- reau. Lost.
