We havenokick about the fate of war, but it surprises us and is, indeed a laughing matter to notice the muss into which Mr Appcrson, the present incumbent of the office, has got. He not only sends the notices to strictly re publican papers with the exception of the Yamhill leporter but shows a partiality to tome of them. This has brought a bees nest down about his head which in the end is liable to amount to his removal. However, it does not concern us. Fight it out, boys, and we will do the laughing, Telephone liti ttt. The tug Fcar!ess,of Coos bay, Captain James Hill commanding, ran on to North Spit, at the mouth of the umpqus nvcr lucsaay evening, and soon went to pieces, not oneof the crew or the pas sengers escaping. The general impression of seafaring men is that she had sprung a leak, and that the captain waa attempting to get in to the river in order to save the fives of those on board, and either miscalculated his position or was blown out of his course by the heavy wind prevailing at the time. The number lots is said to be from ten to fifteen souls. Gambling Heusce Closed, Spokane Falls, Nov. 21.
