A small soft brush shauld-be used to clean celery and potatoes. Use only the best blacking, and polish rapidly. To cure a felon, keep the finger in a bag of salt. The same method can be used to cure a ham. Two large silver salt-cellars arc new used, one at each end of the tabic. These are to be passed to each guest,wh will re move a little of the salt to his empty indi vidual sub-cellar. To clean the children's teeth use a fine tooth comb. One of the most terrible disasters known in the annals of the Pacific Northwest happened in this city this evening. Four men are known to hate lost their lives by this accident, several are injured severely, and one, it is believed fatally, and others are missing. A terrible windstorm which came up a few minutes before 6 this evening w!.s the cause of this catastrophe. Walter Bates, Frank McConnell, Slainslaus Gervais, Thos.
