A. here, a bran new one, with a modern equip ment, no warmed, over affair; but one of a scale that shall count. It isn't necessary to create a sentiment here. It is already established. The great question is how it can be done, with out being made a burden to our peo ple, already having their hands full of enterprises. The way to do a thing is to do it, and that is the man ner in which the Y. M. C. A. will be established. It will take some big subscriptions and then a long list of smaller ones. At the proper time our people will be equal to the occa sion, as they have been in the past. The Eugene man who said that the Y. M. C. A. is the biggest asset in the city, made a remark suggestive of the value of such an institution, and calling for sacrifice in order to secure it. Preparations should be begun this year to push it next year definitely and aggressively. It can be done. PERSONAL Mrs. J J. Collins was a Corvallis visitor yesterday. Mrs. John Catlin has had another stroke erf paralysis, and is now nearly blind. J. J. Leonard, a leading citizen of Aurora, is in the city, looking after Albany property. D. W. Rumbaugh went to Harrlsburg this afternoon to look into the .ruit interests, and see what is needed. Maurice Winter was stopping at the Hotel Ravere today, on bis regular trip up the valley, one of Oregon's moat successful ('rummers. Only a Few Days to Plant.
