S. G. Irvine, of Newport, was in the
city this noon on his way to Portlard in
the interest of the proposed Siletz R R.
He reported it practically assmed. The
plan is to build the road by 1915. Upon
the completion of the Panama canal it
is expected there will be an immense
demand for lumber on this coast, and
