D., was held at the Presbyterian church this afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at tended by a large number of friends! from all parts of the valley, a splendid expression of the high esteem in which he was held. , . Among prominent ministers from other places are Rev. W. H. Lee, of Seattle, Rev. H. N. Mount, of Eugene, T. Babcock and kobinson, of Salem, Rev. Edmundson, of Spring Valley, Rev. Wardle, of Lebanon and others. A good sized delegation came from Corvallis and several from alem and Independence. The services at the church were m charge of Rev. Griswold, by whom a short eulogy was pronounced, also by Rev. Lee and others. The pall bearers were F. M. Redfield, J M. Ralston, F. M. French, R. K. Ohling, James Tomlinson, of this city, and J. H. Simpson of Corvallis The burial was in the Masonic ceme tery, and was in charge of the Knights Templars, of whom he was a brother member.
