Allen Bohannon of Central Point,commander of the 7th dis trict, installed the post officers while Dale Bohannon installed th< auxiliaries. Gene Fisher was installed as commander of the Gold Hill post, succeeding Henry Albrecht. Other officers were; Kendall Dufur, senior vice commander; Melvin Lewis, junior vice; Jim Rosecrans officer of the day; Vaughn Whit more, chaplain; J. Whaley, quar termaster; and Gerald Lewis, Dost surgeon. W For the auxiliary, Trcssa Short became president, succeeding Lena Laricks. Installed with her were: Lillie MacKay,senior vice president; Pauline Albrecht, jun ior vice; Vada Dahl, cliaplain; Lena Laricks, treasurer; Ruby Whitmore, patriotic instructor; Aimee Marsden,conductress; Mabel Goodwin, guard; and trustees Elizabeth Horn and Hel en Shoemaker. Retiring commander was pre sented with a scroll of achieve ment. Gold Hill post was one of five in tfie State of Oregon that maintained a 100 per cent m em bership during the year. This heartening news came thl; week on the heels of a city coun t i l budget meeting at which the figure was trimmed $3,120 or about 17 per cent. If nothing is added to the bud get, it would mean a tax reduc tion. However, two possibilities loomed. One was that the c iti zens budget com m ittee would add to the budget, as was done last year, or that the water filt ration situation might require additional funds, , City Recorder Ferd Jones re ported that this year will see the last payment on the water and sewer bonds, a figure of $2500 plus interest. This will leave only the fire truck bonds to be paid off and a start on the se will be made. The budget committee of eld zens, which will meet on April 27th, is made up of Ralph Bell, Wilbur Martin, Merritt Davis, Paul Thompson, Floyd Lance and Paul Molloy.
