THURSDAY. JUNE 21. 1951 CENTRAL POINT AMERICAN. CENTRAL POINT. OREGON Pee Wee Baseball Season Under Way Wednesday evening. June 27, will find Pee Wee and Club baseball teams opening on their home field against Jacksonville. At 6:30 p.m. the Pee Wee will take the field for the first game. These boys, 12 years and under, who have been practic ing under the direction of Don Fa ber, hope for their first win, as they lost their first two starts, 0-4 to Medford and 5-6 against Talent. Speical ceremonies at 7:30 p.m. will find Mayor Don Burelson pitching the first ball to Superin t- endent H. P. Jewett at bat, with chairman of the school board, Don Patterson behind the home plate. This will open the game for the Cubs, who have won both previous games, at Medford and Talent. Colonel Waterbury, president of Southern Oregon Junior Basebell league, will be a special guest. This league comprises teams from Ash land, Phoenix, Talent, Medford. Jacksonville, Central Point and Eagle Point, Also, as special guests will be the members of the city council and the directors of the school board.
