Clover Support Price To Be Reduced A ladino clover support price 15 Cents a pound less than for 1945 is the new provision of the 1946 hay and pasture seed loan program most important to Oregon producers, points out E. Harvey Miller, chair man of the state P.MA committee. Under the 1946 schedule, top quality certified ladino clover seed will command a loan rate of U-S5, compared with last year's 81.50. More than 75.000 pounds of the 1945 crop were placed under loan by Oregon producers. Loan rates for two other seed crops have been lowered one cent a pound to eight cents for biennial sweet clover and three cents for farm-stored Sudan grass. Rates for other kinds of seed remain un changed from 1945. Unchanged are alfalfa, common nt 33 cents and certified at 40 cents: alsike clover, 25 cents; red clover, common at 2s cents and certified at 34 cents; certified orchard grass, 15 cents; white clover, 50 cents. These loan rates are for seed meeting basic germination and purl- ty requirements. Appropriate dis- counts are provided for seed of lower quality. With the exception of sudan grass, loans will be made only On seed stored in approved ware houses. Details can be obtained from county agricultural conserva tion < ommittees.
