In the Navy, two fine and outstanding boys of the community, Vernon (Red) Holland and Homer (Stub) Myers, died in the service of their country. —0— Yet. the people of this city seem to forget that there is a war going on and here has been much bitter feeling and back talk lately—such as street dance and the disbanding of the service club. —#— It would be far lietter to discuss such matters more calmly, If th ?.v want any project done, loo percent cooperation,should lie given instead of just sayng "Let George do it." The fishing is pretty rotten. The.e w a report that a new large run of steelhead Is In the vicinity of Grams I’oss and should be up at Gold Ray dam sometime during this weea. Then the fishing may improve con siderably. BIRTHDAY DINNER— Monday evening a dinner honoring the Sth birthday of Robbie Powell was given at the home of Bobbles grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Powell. Those present were Mr. anl Mrs. Kenneth Powell and Teddy, Mr 'nd Mrs. Bill Smith and Wanda. Mrs John Powell. Jackie and the hotter guest, Bobbie be.-nde the host and hostess.
