In the death o f W. C. ( “ Con” ) Leev- er the city has lost her most promin ent citizen. It falls to the lot o f few men to serve their communities year after year as an elected officer for more Shan thirty years. “ C on ” as he was affectionately known far and wide was a faithful servant of this city from the days of a country vill age. Under his guidane all the ma jo r im provements the city enjoys, paving, water system, sewer system, etc. have been Installed. T w o grandchildren also survive, William and Richard Constant Leev er, sons of Mr and Mrs Earl C. Leever. Funeral services will lie conducted at 2 o ’clock p. m. Sunday from the Perl Funeral H om e in Medford, un der the auspices of the Christian Science church o f which the deceas ed was a member. Services at the grave will be in charge o f the Ma sonic lodge. Interment will be in the Central Point cemetery. Harry Merriman Taken by Death m » J Rebekahs Hold Regular Session I Last Rites Held For Mrs. Tyrrell, Valley Pioneer Funeral servies were held Satur day afternoon at the Conger chapel for Mrs. Arietta Tyrrell, the Rev. Clifton A. Phillips officiated. Inter ment took place in the Siskiyou Memorial park. Mrs. Tyrrell, Oregon pioneer, who resided here for 76 years, died at her h om e on the Jacksonville highway last Thursday. Arietta Jacquette was born In Iowa, Jan. 17, 1858. When she was tw o years old she, with her parents, crossed the plains by covered wagon to Oregon. On Feb. 13, 1875, she was married to John Howard Tyrrell, In Ashland. O regop where they lived for one year. At the end o f that time they took up a homsestead in the Little Butte creek region which was their hom e for over forty years. For the last eighteen years they have lived near Medford on the Jacksonville highway. The thirteenth o f February o f this year marked their sixtieth wedding anniversary. Besides the husband she is sur vived by the follow in g children ; Allle F ir lo w o f Lake Creek; John R. o f Dead Indian Soda Springs; Arden M., who live* ou the old Stage Road, and Ivan E . o f Rainier, Ore.
