many hours of hard work in prepar
ing for the convention. He was assis

shouldered many responsibilities as
program chairman; Harry Naugel,
parade chairman; Ira Cantield. en
tertainment chairman and Harold
James, housing chairman.

The fifteenth annual stale conven
tion of the Disabled American Vet
erans of the World War, which was
held this year in Medford last week
was the most successful ever held by
that organization. A large number
of delegates from all parts of the
state were present and there wasn’t
a bitch in the program from start to
finish.
The three-day convention opened
formally Thursday morning in the
court house with Mayor George Por

Medford. The mayor was warmly ap
plauded for his talk. A welcome was
also expressed by Manager A. H.
Banwell for the Jackson County
Chamber of Commerce.
State Commander Kdward G. Ga

sentatives of all the veterans' organ
izations. The address of the day was
given by Mr. A. H. Banwell, who
praised the veterans organizations
for the good they have done for the
world war service men. He declared
