Convention Most Outstanding Ever in Oregon thank Medford and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce for being so kind and helpful." Harvey Cassmau of this city, com mander of the Jackson county post, was convention chairman, and put in many hours of hard work in prepar ing for the convention. He was assis ted by Frank J. Holbrook, who shouldered many responsibilities as program chairman; Harry Naugel, parade chairman; Ira Cantield. en tertainment chairman and Harold James, housing chairman. Meeting at the same time as the Disabled Veterans was the Ladies' Auxiliary of the organization, who elected the following officers for the year: Mrs. Arda Shires. Newberg. commander; Mrs. Mollie Dover, Grants Pass, senior vice commander; Mrs. Josephine Ostrander, Salem, junior vice commander; Mrs. Aletha Lille, Medford, chaplain; Mrs. Ellen Allen, Dundee, treasurer; Mrs. Mil dred Wallace, Grants Pass, conduc tress; Mrs. Nettle Cassman, Central Point, historian, and Mrs. Mildred Lawton, Grants Pass, musician. The fifteenth annual stale conven tion of the Disabled American Vet erans of the World War, which was held this year in Medford last week was the most successful ever held by that organization. A large number of delegates from all parts of the state were present and there wasn’t a bitch in the program from start to finish. The three-day convention opened formally Thursday morning in the court house with Mayor George Por ter welcoming the delegates to Medford. The mayor was warmly ap plauded for his talk. A welcome was also expressed by Manager A. H. Banwell for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. State Commander Kdward G. Ga vin, who presided, introduced repre sentatives of all the veterans' organ izations. The address of the day was given by Mr. A. H. Banwell, who praised the veterans organizations for the good they have done for the world war service men. He declared the organized veterans should now prepare a new program to include all (Editors Note: The following is humanity in their humanitarian taken fiom the National Townsend work.
