M . Dyer, Myrtle Creek grand high priest, M s . Hazel Wainscott, Pendleton, Rebe kah Lodge state president; A*s. E. Mae Kafer, Glendale, vice president; M s . Arlene Hohn, Banks, LAPM president and M s . Sheryl Marshall, Central Point, Theta Rho assert bly warden. r The Rogue V a lle y chapter, Sweet Adelines, under the direction of Robert Klusman, presented a musical program during the evening. Principal speaker was Dr. Frank Haines, SOC, whose very informative, provacative topic was "The History of the Us Hotel" and a humorous skit was also pre sented by a Myrtle Creek lodge member. The evening m e e t- H eld in the US Hotel ballroom following the dinner hour in the lodge d i n n i n g h a ll. A buf fet luch was served at noon in the dining hall and conducted tours of the local points of interest were made during the afternoon. John Black was chairman of the Trek, assisted by fellow members "Bud" Couch and Jack McDaniel. Mrs. C liff Snodgrass was in charge of the banquet and M s . John Black, decorations of the h all. ROYAL NEIGHBOR OF AMER ICA DELEGATE RETURNS HOME M s . Pearl Jordan, 704 Ster ling Road, recoreder of ling Road, recorder of Silver Maple Camp #265 of the Ro yal Neighbors of America, Jacksonville, represented the local organization at state Convention, Albany, Satura- day and Sunday, April 16 and 17. Mrs. Jordan made the trip Albany by bus returning with die delegates of the Ash land organization. Thirty-three delegates at tended this convention session held once every four years preceding the national con vention which occurs in the month of June. The dirstrict conventions occur yearly with the current one scheduled for sometime during the month of May in Medford. The next State Camp w ill be held in Medford, A pril, 1970. The main project of this organization is giving assistanc to the Schools for the Deaf. The Oregon State School for the Deaf is located at Salem . Amoney g ift, the local or ganization's participation in the project, was presented by M s . Jordan. A beautiful wood bowl made by the manual arts students of the state school for the deaf was presented to the organization in appreciation for thler sponsorship of the r The various money gifts of the convention groups were collected in the gift bowl and presented to Virclna Duvall, Portalnd, RHA Oregon supervisor. M s. Duvall w ill present these gifts to the RNA national super visor at the national con vention of the organization scheduled for sometime in June in the State of Florida. M s . Jordan reported that during the entertainment program a young blind lady, Eugene, presented two vocal spiritual selections, "He" and " I Believe" playing her own piano accompaniment. And, among those who pre sented beautiful drills during the program were The Morn ing Star D rill Team of the Albany Grange Youth Group and the Medford RN a Mistle toe Camp D rill T eam . MEDFORD CRAFTSMAN DIS PLAYS EXHIBIT AT LIBRARY Mrs. Arthur Tobe M s . Arthur Roberts, local librarian, announced that M . W illia m Fontaine, Medford craftsman in wood sculpting, has a display of his handicraft at the local library, this week, during National Library Week, A pril 1 8 - 2 3 . One exhibit of note, w ill be a six foot, carved, Indian, in full regalia. Mrs. Roberts also wishes to remind the public that Open House w ill be held Friday af ternoon frpan 1:30 to 5:00 and again in the evening from 7-CC to 8:00, to give everyone an opportunity to attend this occasion. Refreshments w ill be served by M s . Roberts and assistants. VALLEYITES RETURN Mrs. and M . Ralph Gapen have returned to the Apple- gate V a lle y after an extended visit in and around Santa Bar bara, Concord and other south ern California cities. M . and M s . Gapen make their home with their son, The R ev. Thorn ton Gapen and M s . Gapen, during their residence in south ern Oregon. BERRIMAN HOME VISITORS Houseguests this week at the home of M s . Job Beriman, Highway 238, are M . and M s . Grover Lovercheck, Centralia, Washington. Miss M d g e Barker, Ham ilton Road, is now living in Salem, having accepted employment in the clerical division of the agriculture development o ffi ce, State Department of A p ic u ltu re . Miss Barker is the daughter of M . and M s . W illia m Barker. She attended Ruch school and the Medford schools.
