According to Mr. \ \ \ '1 < ‘ :h \mertcan Feder avi t the B» U t e . ist propa- ation of labor thia action i tilliotts of other Americans, ganda which he, along with believes is not needed here. No one can truthful!) -ay that the indu trial condi tions in this country are as they should he hut on the other hand, the average American tccls that there an better wavs than that of the B< Isheviki to master these prob lems. We do not need the dictatorship with the subse quent persecutions to solve our problems. Our country has gone thru many a crisis worse than the present one and recovered and ’it will get thru this one much easier if the cause of the communists is left over the sea in fur off Russia. Whenever there is a labor shortage there is always a footing found for radicals who would revolutionize the existing conditions. The present is no different from the past. The strange thing which we have noted, however is that most of these movements are lustered by men w ho are not overly zealous to earn an honest living it it re quires work. They feci that the worker should have ad the revenue and the executive should receive the wage of a roust-about or apprentice. We have noticed that few of the transcient unem ployed search for a meal at a place where work threatens. ' If more of the men and women who are involved in inciting strife over industrial conditions would spend as much time looking toward the betterment ot their chanc es for meeting such a crisis they would not be so apt to need the services of any such organization as the com munist movement. The outcome of the coming gubernatorial primary is quite apt to bring about a test of strength among the American Legion politicians, if present plans are not soon changed. Each of the Republican party candidates who are held to be the strong contestants for the chief execu tive position, has selected a Legion man to conduct his campaign. This condition indicates either one of two things— either the Legion is considered as a strong enough polit ical power in the state to be a menace to the chances of a candidate or else the legion men are fast assuming posi tions of prestige in this state and from their ranks come the most active campaigners. THE JOKERS CORNER ‘ The battle lines are being drawn and soon the pub- J licity men will have the newspapers and the radios shout ing the merits of the several candidates. The three lead ers in the race are all quite prominent and are successful men in their several callings. Any one is big enough for m pot, in a d v o c a tin g the job and the vote of the people will not be governed so m o S re e n a p to ro r te c S tio n on d ic e d e c la re d much by the candidates ability but by the platform upon th a t A m eric an s c o u ld do b e lte r wifi» th e ir o w n d ice.
