Smith, the well-known attor ney of Grants Haas, (fives the following forecast on the Medford water election: Novem ber 5.— Election held in M ed ford. H am ilton ’s w ater proposition par ried by a mojarity vote. Novem ber 6— C ity council met and 1 authorized contract with Hamilton for construction o f wood pipeline for $254, j )00. Ex-M ayor J. H. Howard, a noted j c ivil engineer, appeared as a friend o f i the people and denounced the proposed | wood pipe, as if was onl yguaranteed one year, as nnfit for the U90 intend- j ed, and demande<l that steel be substi- | tuted for ten miles. Hamilton ably supported by Engineer Roberts and A. 8. Bliton insisted upon a contract ac cording to the proposal submitted. The council naked Hamilton what guarantee he could give the cit yagainst litig a tion.
