Now, what the Rogue River Val ley should do is to take a few loads o f Bear Creek bottom soil, from near Central Point, and scatter it around the base o f old Mount Pitt and “ boost” the altitude o f that landmark to 12,(MX) feet or better. Bear Creek bottom land grows every thing else bigger than the big gest, so why not “ go the route” and beat out Portland and Hood River and Baker City and have the biggest mountain?
