Riverside, O kanogan county, Wn. Mr.
Smith has made several visits to
Sherm an county since leaving here
26 years ago, but he said conditions
had changed w onderfully since th a t
tim e.
Speaking of the past and
present when here Tuesday evening he
said th a t he le ft here 26 years ago
driving a team of horses and a span
of mules hitched to a wagon, taking
sixteen days to make the trip to
Riverside. Now the same trip can
be made by m otor car in four to five
hours. Mr. Smith made the trip this
time by auto stage and train , intend
ing to re tu rn home by way of Seattle.
