I reland Editor and Publisher Entered •• second class matter at the post office at Moro, Oregon, July 25, 1891 Bheriff Hugh Chrisman , had in charge last week a man’ crazed with the fear of scalp hunting indian warriors who, he thought, were raid- ing the C. A. Harper farm east of Wasco. The story is that the men working with him on the farm had filled him with stories of wild indians andi as he was from the city, he be lieved all that he was told and imagined a great deal more. One night some of the men returned late from town and, as men sometimes do, yelled loudly ••• they neared * ‘’ camp. The man from town decided the indians WOT© after him. He put on his trousers and started barefoot over the fields to a neighbor to warn them x>f the danger. It was a cou- )’e of days before the man from the city had his nerves under control and admitted that he had been list ening to improbable, tales. The stranger decided that the city was best for him and that the dangers of the country had best be left to those ..ho understand them. He is again at home in Portland.
