Roberts Motor Car Co., Portland, Oregon. Gentlemen: We have used Republic Trucks in our business for two years and a half and at this time have 12 of them. We feel after having tried a variety of trucks that the Republic is the best for our use and need- * less to say, think very highly of them. They are economical in the use of oil, gas and tires and the upkeep so far has been practically *• nothing. The service rendered by you is demon strated by the fact that until this time we have had no extra car and this has meant that every car in our fleet mußt run over its territory every ‘ day without fail. These cars have done this for / the past two years. Wishing you continued success and congratu lating you upon your connection with such a re markable factory as the Republic MotorCompany, we are, Very truly yours, - ROYAL BAKERY A CONFECTIONARY. Wm. Protective agencies throughout the Northwest took advantage of the cool weather the last week in July to put out as many fires as possible in anticipation of unfav orable conditions later on. Smoke has rendered lookouts useless in places and greatly reduced their efficiency throughout. This con dition improved somewhat late in July. The accumulated shortage of rain in many sections together with the large number of fires still smouldering in old burns and slashings make it necessary that unusual precaution must be taken to avoid disastrous August and September fires. I « IHA T joy it would be to have a home all your own, built as a home should he built, arranged as you’ve always wanted your house, everything orded as you want it, when you want it. There’s nothing like owning a home to make a man realize that bo’s a substantial citizen, or to give people the confidence in him he deserves. You can’t measure the value of owning your own home on a dollar and cents basis alone—and yet with rents still on the in crease and the price of building material stabilized, proba bly for years to come, home building and home owning never was a better investment. Just add to that the satis faction and contentment for your wife, a betser place for babies to grow up in, a more lia b le environment. JAL- A Safe Investment OUR house and lot are as safe as a bond. There is an unprecedented market now for improved property —you can “casi in” any time you wish. Five years hence, even though building prices slowly settle to a lower level, the tremendous building activity that must come in the meantime will give your investment a substantial increase in value.
