An Enjoyable Motor Trip
meeting of farmers at the M oro
school auditorium Thursday even­
ing, attended by farmers living in
all sections of the ^ounty. It was
arranged to put a detail of m ili­
tary police in „ the county for fire
protection purposes to work with
the four home guard companies.
The m ilitary police detailed for
Sherman county w ill be on the
job next week and every road in
the county w ill be patrolled. A ll
night telephone service for all
parts of the county is part of the

psychiatric unit at the naval training
station. „

A few days ago Ensign John Sharpe
discovered an ex-sleight-of-hand per­
former among the recruits in deten­
tion. Mr. Sharpe seized the opportun­
ity for some fun. He called the
psychiatric unit, asked for Chief T e o
man Dodds and said:
“I have a loon I am going to eend
over. He is as crazy as a bat, eo
watch out for him."
Then turning to the sleight-of-hand
man he remarked: “Go over and show
them a good time.”
When the “loon” appeared at the
unit, Dodds showed him to * a seat,
brought out the various blocM and
puzzles and started to find out wheth­
er his patient was born crazy or at­
tained it later.
,
“Take these blocks”—Dodds began.
But the blocks had disappeared. Bus!
ness of searching high and low, bat
no blocks.
Dodds registered consternation, ex­
citement, perplexity—but still no
blocks.
“I think you will find them In your
right coat pocket,” said the man be­
ing examined. And sure enough, there
they were.
Dodds tried again:
“Now here is a picture, look at It
ten seconds and tell me about It.”
“Where is the picture? Thia Is only
piece of paper,” said the mystery
man.
Dodds replied, “I gave you a pic­
ture.”
