Harland. infant son of M r. and Mrs. Harold Fish of Biggs and grandson of Judd Fish of The Dalles, died at The Dalles hospital last Saturday after an illness of several days. D r. C. L. Polcy reports several as convalescent from the grippe thia week. Among the nnmber now in improving health are Mrs. J. C. McKean, Mrs. R. D. Jack- son. J. A . Hardin, Mrs. W m . Morrison and Miss Elisa, and all of Deputy County Clerk Buxton's family. Mrs. J. W . Cochran it recover ing nicely from an attack •• of la grippe. M r. Cochran arrived home in the early hours of Sun day, having mimed his train and then took a train that left him at the Harris place on the Des Chutes, river from where he walked to M oro. Ornduff was appointed court house janitor for the coming year. F . E . Brown was appointed fruit inspector for the year 1916. J. C. McKean was appointed truant officer for the year 1916.
