The Publicity Department of the Harriman System
has entered into a definite contract to expend Five Dollars
for every One Dollar contributed by the Tax Payers of
Sherman county for the purpose of actually bringing into
Sherman county men and families with money to invest
in lands and enterprises here.
In order for the citizens of this county to take advant­
age of this proposition it will be necessary for the Tax
Payers to petition the County court to provide a fund for
the purpose. It will be necessary to levy a lax of j of one
mill upon all the property in the county to raise this
money.
To get this matter before the County court, the mem­
bers of the Sherman county Development League will
canvas the county during the second week in December to
obtain signatures upoi^thfi petition.
This same sort of proposition has been accepted by 90
percent, of all of the enterprising Towns and Counties in
the State of Oregon; we being one of the last to ta^p up
this method of helping ourselves, and getting upon the
map.
SeVenty-five percent, o f the Tax Payers have al­
ready indicated their willingness to accept this proposition
and we trust to get your valued co .operation.
