delegate to th e convention. If he is unable to attend hy

the district. Each delegate attending the convention during
the entire session shall be entitled to receive two dollars out

Note: A debate between the Wasco High School and
the Moro High School will take place at the opera house in
Wasco on Friday evening, December 4th. The object of this
debate is to select an all Sherman county debating*?team.

That was a very pretty incident in
the long and happy married life of
Mr and Mrs P P DeMoss when they
celebrated their Golden Wedding
anniversary in this city yesterday,
surrounded by a host of friends,
their Own children, grandchildren
and relatives. Fifty years ago on
Thanksgiving morning Uncle Peter
and his dear old wi'e were joined in
the holy trends of mat'imony in
Marion county, Iowa. To them
have Been born eight children, four
still living, with families of their
own in Oregon: P. 0 ., at DeMoss;
Mrs Maggie Strahl, Mrs Myrtie
Brash, in Moro; and John H., in
Washington county.
The happy couple received their
friends during the afternoon, from
2 to 5 o’clock, when a goodly num­
ber took advantage of the occasion
to congratulate (he good old people
on the s rcoeaa which had attended
them so far on life’s journey.
The rooms were handsomely dec­
orated for the occasion, and the
reception was a grand success
Several appropriate presents were
received frorp relatives, and also a
purse from their friends in Moro
containing considerable over half a
hundred dollars in gold
Mr. DeMoss is a pioneer, crossing
tbe plains in 1858, then going back
by way of Panama, re-eroesing in
1882 with Mrs. DeMoes.
