During m y recent Easter visitation of
my large mkwlonary dtotrlot, I announ
ced to the various congregations th a t
I visited th a t it waa m y Intention to
gather In to Wasco on the first of A u
gust, or Im m ediately after the harvest-

district of sufficient age to m ake their
first oom muniou and to be oonfirmed,
and 1 now desire to extend through

vicinity. I also stated that I would
personally bear all the expense of these
boys once they came under m y charge.
T h a t la, I would board, lodge, train,
educate and supply them w ith religious
literature, w ith o u tA t^dlar fex^euse to

the bAyswith whom I persobally spoke
on this subject, that whilst they would
sp nd a large amouut of tim e In reli

the reception of the sacraments as
above, I would give thgm a good, plea
sant tim e and an opportunity to indulge
In healthy, boyish sports. I desire It
however clearly understood by the
parents, and by the boys themselved,
th a t I require the boys to know their
prayers and catechism fairly well be
forehand, so th a t they m ig ht the better
profit by the Instructions I shall give
them d urin g tfie m onth or six weeks
they m ay be under m y charge. The
prayers they are to memorize are: T he
O ur Father, H a il M ary, H o ly M ary,
Apostles Creed, Conflteor, Acts of Con
tritio n , F a ith , Mope and C h arity, H a il,
H o ly Queen, T he Ten Commandments
and the six Itecepts of the church. The

O w ing to the fact th a t on the 26th of

I have abandoned the Idea of trainin g

have not. I am more Intent now than
ever, as I consider it about the only
practical means of accomplishing any

dear boys themselves, and of keeping
them and th e ir parents strong in the
faith. N o hoy or m an w ill be shut out
from this opportunity, quite a number
are anxious to come, and the more the
