only—men who had been trusted and
depended upon—were responsible for

W hy should men sneer at women if
they exhibit anxiety In regard to their
savings7 As a rule, the deposits repre
sent the results of years of tolling at
wages below the male average for
work In the same line.
These same papers added to the plc-
tureeqUeueaa of their pages by pictur
ing gray haired widows weeping lie-
cause all they had In the world was
held by these banks. In many cases It
was all th a t stood between them and
the poorbouse. A man may repair his
lasses, but such women cannot do so.
