The road has been surveyed to Madras, 110 distant. Numerous difficulties have attend ed preliminary work on the road. Irrigation interests first oame in contact with the project, and the O. R. A N. will not aid the work to any extent, as the Trunk Line is to enter territory now controlled alto gether .by the Harriman interests. It is believed, however, that the promoters of |the line are ready to go ahead, and interesting develop ments in the work are promised. Mr.- Nelson has a good record as a railroad builder. He hag*becn a railroad contractor for a long time, lieing a member of the contracting firm of Nelson «.fc White, Seattle. Later he bought the interests of his partner.
