A Pullman dispatch says a revolution in handling wheat» in the Palouse country will be effected if the Chicago, Mil-, waukee a St. Paul Ry considers the request of the progress ive farmers of Eastern Washington to construct elevators instead of warehouses along its proposed line through the wheat belt. The matter has been properly taken up with President Williams, and he concedes the desirability of the change, but the principal opposition would come from facilities at the coast, which considers grain in the sack exclusively. The Wheat Orowers’ Association in the Walla Walla country, have purchased 500,000 grain bags for distribution in Morrow and Umatilla counties for the coming harvest The group of farmers composing this organizatioh are said to “stand together.” We hopd so, failure to “stand togeth- er” lost the prison jute mill. Standing together meant thousands of dollar« antiually to Inland Empire wheat producers. It ha« been decided to incorporate the association and thu« he prepared for future emergencies.
