Taxpayers Inclined To Forget Stuff Review of early filed returns in Oregon reveals that some tax payers are failing to fill in all required data, A.G.Erickson, dir ector of Internal Revenue said today. Mr Erickson said individual and business taxpayers particular- ilj should carry forward to pro per lines on the face of the re turn data from any attached schedules. Director Erickson said it is important that returns filed this year be accurate and complete. Internal Revenue is turning to electronic computers to maintain taxpayer accounts. For this sys tem to function beneficially for the government and for taxpay ers manual editing of defe live returns must be reduced to a minimum, he said. LAItltY KASKRKRG Larry Kaseberg has l»een named as Young Farmer of the year by The Dalles Junior Cham ber of Commerce and was aw ant ed that honor formally at the an nual meeting there. Larry lives on the farm of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Kase berg west of Wasco and cares for his herd of Angus besides helping witli the wheat. He has been an active farmer for many years, starting in club work and taking a big part in putting on the junior livestock show at The Dalles for the wheat league since he finished OSU. He is active in many civic affairs, especially the Sherman County Club, which sponsored him. The Dalles is coming to Sher man county to pay a vi.dt. It will be a sort of official visit, the in vitation having been given by the Sherman County Club and the arrangements at The Dalles hav ing been 'he work of the chamber of comm »rce. That doesn’t mean that it will be either formal or stuffy. The citizens of the river city are apparently in a mood to ’ook around them and see ’ he things close at home istead of gazing at the sometimes greener tppearing fields on far off hills. And Sher man countlans who have often nated that pre-occupjtlon and criticised it can be happy at any abeyance. What the visitors ‘..dk (bout will be of their own thinking. The club has work of its own. It will elect officers and care or some business althougn It will MX hear the report o f the com- mittee named to study the feasi bility of a port district in Sher man county. The meeting will lie held in the Masonic hall and will oe catered by Beefo's and memners are re quested to attend.
