The total land irrigated in Ore gon was about 106 thousand acres less in 1959 than in 1954. This figure does not show tiie true pic ture and does not necessarily mean that irrigated acres in Ore gon has dropped. Some counties with reduce,! irrigated acreages figures have considerable area of wild meadow pasture lands which were irrigated hy run off w ater in the year of the census.
