Cecil Edwards, secretary of the Oregon Cattlemen, stopped In Moro Monday afternoon. Mrs. Karl Landstrom (Leora Peetz) and Mrs. Bob DeGraff (Janet Stephens) w ere here Tues day morning. Mrs. Landstrom from Alexandria, Virginia ami Mrs DeGraff from Portland. The form er flew- out to Fairfield, Cal ifornia to attend the wedding of her daughter, Maris Lou, last Saturday to Airman 3rd class, Edw ard Sebers of E verett, Wn., now’ stationed at T ravis Air Base. BOHN: To Mr. and Mrs. hoger Miller of Springfield, a daughter, June 12. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Miller are grandparents of the infant. They were in Eugene over the weekend but were home by the time the baby was born. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hennagin came to town W ednesday after spending a w inter in or near Phoenix, Arizona. Judge E. H. Howel was in town W ednesday to conduct some le gal business at the court house. Moro Personals Bob Axtell is in the V eteran's hospital in Vancouver (W ard 19) w here he is being treated for a complication of ailm ents one of which is the head injury he re ceived when 11 years old. M.s. Bob Axtell is in the Holliday hos pital (room 314) in Portland. The children are staying w ith the Bill F latts in Condon while their parents are away. Mr. and Mrs. Dale H arrison took a trip to Portland and on over to the coast for the week end. leaving David Conlee in charge of the station. Mr. and Mrs. Wily Knighton came back to Moro last week end to stay awhile. A party of weed men including representatives of chemical com panies, researchers and extension men w eie in the county Monday looking over the weed plots. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rayon and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wooderco left F riday to drive to the middle west on a vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor and children tro v e back to Missouri for th eir vacation from work, taking it before harvest. Diana H enrichs has been nam ed w inner of the Union Pacific scholarship of $200 w ith which to a tte n i a land gran t college. Darlene Miller is tiie alternate. Raymond (Bud) Eslinger of Hillsboro was a weekend guest of his cousins Mr. and Mrs. Clair Balzer. Susie Woods Wed To California Man Susan Woods, daughter of E r nest Woods of Moro and Mrs. Shirley Woods of Portland, was m arried early this m onth at A.l Saints Catholic church in P ort land to Ronald Ruettgers, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. R uettgers of Bakersfield, California. The bride’s sisters, Mrs. L ar ry Kaseberg of Wasco anil Julie and C hristie Woods of Portland were the bride’s attendants. Mr. and Mrs Howard Dawdy and son, Wayne, from Cellar City, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Drinkard, also of Cellar City, accompanied them. Over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Barnett and children accompan ied their guests for a short visit to the coast, returning via P ort land. w here they enjoyed the Rose Festival and parade. Mr. and Mrs. Llov-1 R oysespent the weekend in Portland and at tended the Rose Festival. They were guests during th eir stay of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Royse. Mrs. Elva Dehler spent several days visiting her son in Seattle last week. Mrs. John Robinson returned to her home last T hursday, after having spent more than a month in a Portlland hospital following surgery on her back. She is re cuperating. but still not able to get about much as yet. Mrs. H arry Van Gilder spent several days In Portland last week w ith her sister, Miss Mary Laiillaw, who rem ains in a coma following a recent stroke. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson Linda and Scott, of Portland were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon H arper over the weekend. Saturday afternoon callers at the Bill Broughton home were Mrs. Mark W hite and Nancy, Mrs. Gordon H arper, Mis. Stanley An derson and Linda and Mr. and Mrs. Altiert D err and young son. Sunday, members of the West Wind Riders attended the Major Horse Show of the MCSCA in The Dalles and rode in the par ade. including Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kel logg and Jack. Mr. and Mrs. Vein Smith, Mr ami Mrs. Leo W atkins and Don, Herb Ramsey and Mrs. George Weed man and Debbie La ter in the evening, the group, with the exception of Mrs. Weed man and Debbie, gathered at Hie Leo W atkins ranch for a potluck supper and the lust regular m eet ing of the summer. Several trail rides have been planned for the sum m er months. Danny H ilderbrand got an ex tra thrill out of the Rose Festival this year.
