I*AGB 3 SHERMAN COUNTY JOURNAL, MORO. OREGON Moro Personals Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peters canu home from Arizona and started to planting garden on the rancn and at Tygh Valley. Parents of Martin Zimmerman were here last week end from Yamhill County for a visit with their son and family and a call or Theodore Johnston who was a classmate of Mr. Zimmerman, way back when, at OAC. Clarence Higley and daughteis drove to LaGrande last weekend to visit son, Tom who reached the age of 21 then. Tom is attend ing school at EOCE and big enough to be a full grown man. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Schadwitz drove up from Portland Friday to do a little work in the cemetery and visit the Schadewltz farm and relatives south of Grass Val ley. Both look fine. Robert Kennedy is here from Pendleton to take over the job of assistant manager of the local bank and is getting instruction this week from Roy Sparks who will go to school in Portland for a couple of weeks beginning Mon day and after that will move to Lakeview. Andy Patjens, once a resident of the Mackin ranch and of Rake- oven, and now’ of Gresham, was seriously injured Saturday while driving from his home to his ranch. He skidded on gravel and overturned breaking several ribs ar.d getting his head cut. Andy is 82 and is at the Mid-Columbia hospital in TheDalles while re covering. It was good spring weather this week, not good weather, but good spring weather, which means cold, windy and with but fleeting sun. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Schilling ci Cottage Grove were here the fust of the week on some busi ness and some visiting with rel atives. They left Tuesday to spend the night in The Dalles. Rob Wallace, section foreman at Riggs, had an emergency a>> pendectomy Monday morning at The Dalles and is getting along well. He is a brother of Charley Wallace of Moro and was just ready for his annual vacation. Mrs. Charles Adlard came back to Moro this week to see how ttings were around her home which she found in good condi tion. Charley is some better an I is learning to walk all over again. Michael Zachary was admitted to St. Vincent's hospital in Port land last Sunday to undergo knev surgery the following morning. He expects to remain in the hos pital about a week.
