The Taylors, who were returning from a vacation trip to Virginia and Michigan, had plan ned to camp at Yellowstone park, hut arrived there the day follow ing the earthquake. Robert Bish, who recently ¡-pent 15 days in the hospital after suf fering a severe foot injury at ‘he Ireginning of harvest season, is still on crutches and will lx? for some w eeks yet. The visit of .Mrs, Bert Mans field of Palouse, Wn., to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave Mil ler, was m arred by tragic news of the death of Mrs. .Mansfield’s brother, Charles Mansfield, also of Palouse, in an auto accident. Larry Eddings, pastor of Wasco Methodist child h, who returned Saturday after spending a week as dean of students at Camp Ma- gruder, reported that out of the 22 counselors, six were fro.n Waaoo. They included, besiiles himself and Mrs. Eddings, Cn.ol Armstrong, Rubble Hastings, Tom Ydunce and Mary Ann Haven. About one o’clo k this afternoon a small blaze s ta rt ed in the restau ran t of F red Skibbe, and before the fire depart m ent has arrived the fire had ma«le such headway that it was impossible to control it. A b r ’sk wind fanned the flames, and only the change in its direction saved w hat rem ains of the business district. The entire city east of W ashington street is an ashen plain, and m any fine homes that st«xxl in the area are burned to the ground. The total loss will ap proach $1,000,000, about one-fifth of which is covere«i by insurance.
