Each area is checked a couple of times to make sure the population does not get out of bounds. Assistance from the insect control division of the A gricultural Research Ser vice, USDA, w as rendered to cov e r tiie area. Farm s checked for population were: George Drink- aril, Howard Ross A1 M erritt anil George Fox. Crickets are present in all of this area, but not suffi cient num bers to w a rra n t any control measures. Present control m easures call for a bran bait m ix ed with an insecticide. Mr. and Mrs. H arry Hydorn and daughter spent last week end with Mrs. H ydorn’s parents, Mr. aryl Mrs. John Mathteson and her son, John, who is spending the sum m er with his grandpar ents. Mr. anil Mrs. Dolph Baker and daughter Jane went up to H epp ner last Sunday to see their new gran son. Mr. and Mrs. Hascall Sherrard were the pa rents of a new son born recently. They have another son. Clyde Gillmor, state highway foreman, Moro, and several farm ers viewed the trials scattered over the coun ty- Earm applications made last year inspected and from other farm reports show’ excellent re sults from the new’ m aterial w h e r e recommended am ounts were applied. Skips in applica tions have lieen noted anil some sickly plants present. Results would indicate the m aterial to be as good as anticipated plus a su perior m aterial than sodium chlo rate at a cheaper cost. Additional experience by farm application and dem onstration plus continued research for tim ing an i rates is needed. Plot trials on sum m er fallow’ in this county showed perfect results w ith less than recommended rates. Stubble application after harvest found The Macnab family enjoyed a picnic i -inner on the iaw’n at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mac nab on July 4th. IX>n Macnah said he brought the children to Rufus for a baseball game during the afternoon, but that the mos quitoes came out In a swarm, and about ate tb? kills up in fifteen minutes, so they changed their minds.
