PAGE 3 SHERMAN COUNTY JOURNAL, Moro Personals Harlandvlew Grange will hold a meeting at 7:30 p. m. February 2 at the hall east of Moto. The program will consist of pictures taken bv Sherrie Fraser and sing ing by the Moro Community Church Junior Choir wilh Mrs. Velma McKean, director. The meeting of the grange will be held after the program. On February 16 the grange will have its visita tion meeting and be hosts for the night. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harrison left Saturday by car for Las Vegas, Nevada where they spent three days on an all-expense tour for winning the Richfield tire sale contest last year. BUI Cramer is sailing gas in their absence. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Paulson were in Portland Monday on business. Little Julie Ann Moreau was in a hospital in The Dalles this week but was returned home Monday to recuparate. Masons completed the job of rebuilding the ramp that acts as a fire escape from their hall this week by installing concrete steps below it in the alley. Mollie McLachlan writes that she is urging an essay contest in the schools on the Americaniza tion theme which the American legion Auxiliary sponsors. Sherman Riders Meet At DeMoss’ The Sherman County Riders helJ their monthly meeting at the home of Curlie DeMoss, Sunday evening, January 25. The newly elected officers of the club pre sided during the business affairs at hand, who were Bob Martin of Kent, president and Doris Colesch of Moro, secretary. Discussion was held on various resolutions to be brought before the meml)ers of the Mid-Columbia Saddle Club Assoc., Sunday, Feb. 1. Committees were appointed by the head chairman, Helen Wat kins, for the banquet to l>e held, Friday evening, March 27, to hon or all of the current 4-H club members and their parents. The banquet and evening program of two speakers, Les Marks and Dr. Seov and a 45-minute film reel with sound on cow-cut ting, roping, reining and at halter of Quarter horses, are under the sponsorship of this saddle club. The hostess, Vada DeMoss, ser ved refreshments to all present. Allan Murray Buried Word was received here Janu ary 14 from Phoenix, Arizona of the death of Allan J. Murray, a Hood River resident for 20 years. Mr. 'Murray was born at Monk- land, Oregon, on March 21, 1890 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Murray and resided there until moving to Hoo 1 River in 1937. Retired in recent years, he had been a farm er both erb o th in In Moro and Hood River. K in j His wife, Ada, whom he married in 1921. preceded him in death two and half years ago. Surviving Mr. Murray are a son in law and daughter, Alvin and Virginia (Sammy) Reynolds and their two children, Charlene and Steven, Hood River; two sisters, Casha Yates of The Dalles, and Christina Rehman of Everett, Washington. Mr. Murray was a veteran of World War 1. a member of Eu reka lodge at Moro and chaplain of the Hood River Masonic lodge. Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home, Hood River, January 20, with in terment at Idlewik'e cemetery. Mr. I.co Horner, minister of The Valley Christian church, and the Masonic lodges of Moro and Hood River officiated. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart Fund. Z E N IT H ANDY FRIDAY.
