HAGE 3 SHERMAN COUNTY JOURNAL, Moro Personals BORN: To Mr- and Mre. John Shipley in The Dalles. Thursday, July 3, a daughter. Ed Patton of Redoing. Calif., a brother of Mrs. Wesley Nichols visited his sister here last week, coining by way of John Day where he called at the G rant county museum. Mr. and Mrs. Wily K m gnten came back to Moro the middle of last week from Mitchell where they have been teaching school for a couple years. They expect to spend the sum m er here before returnin g to Mitchell for anothei school year. Sylvia Zachary spent the F ourth of July week eno here w ith her parents, Mr. and Mrs. K enneth Zachary, coming from Salem w here she is going to school. John P arker was taken to a hospital in The Dalles last T h u rs day night and had to rem ain sev eral days. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hoskinson were in Moro Monday while on their way to visit relatives at Vancouver, Wn., before going to Eugen to visit a daughter. 1 heli home is in California. Mr. and Mrs. AI Rasmussen made a trip to Portland Monday to confer with her doctor about her health. Many Sherm an counuans were at Camp Sherman for the long holiday week end to try a little fishing, smell the pines and ju st rest. MORO, OREGON FRIDAY, JULY II. I9.Y8 Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bieker and family left Sunday m orning, ac com panying Dr. and Mrs. Dean Wilcox and family of Tlie Dalles, for a trip to British Columbia for a ten day vacation. Early Tuesday morning Camp F ire girls started for their sum mer camp at W arm Springs ac companied by Mrs. Mike Mulick. They will spend a week swim ming in the hot w ater under a hot sun and have the time of their lives. Bob Ferrell and Giles French were in Goldendale Tuesday night to attend a com m ittee meeting for the John Day dam inaugural. A. L. H afenrichter and Robert Brown of the soil conservation service spent a day here with H enry G rafen h o rst going over a long list of figures of crop yields. Mr. and Mrs. John De.Moss came back from Puget Sound W ednesday m orning to spend a few days and to attend the Dug ger family reunion which will l e held at Eagle Cheek park, near Estacada next Sunday, July 13. Mrs. H arry Pinkerton attended a W ednesday luncheon meeting in Portland, where the speaker was Helen Livingston Smith of New York City, chairm an of CARE for the General Federaion of W omen’s Clubs. Mrs. B. C. B aum gartner and daughters of Portland were Sher man county visitors the first of the week. One of the girls is help ing at the Dean Pinkerton home durin g harvest and another at the Gene Reynolds' home. Mrs. B. H. Roberson is in Salt Lake attending sum m er school at the university there. Mr. and Mrs. T hurston Coons of Clarkston, W ashington visited here w ith his cousin, Bill Coons and family W ednesday night. Chester Peterson of Rufus, was taken to a hospital in The Dalles by county ambulance W ednesday after he had fallen from a truck and apparently injured his back. He was w’orking for A. Douma. MORO COMMUNITY Mrs. Frances Mathews and her sister, Mrs. H arriett Wells were in Moro Monday to visit th eir sister, Mrs. Maxine Baker at The T avern, who is helping out there while Mr. and Mrs. Mac Alsup spend a few’ days at lygh A alley. Mrs. Mathews and her granddau ghter came dow’n from Seattle last week to see her mother, Mrs. T. M. Rolfe who is recovering slowly from a broken leg in a hospital in The Dalles.
