' The state tax com m ission In an e ffo rt to b rin g the va lu a tion of p roperty to an equalised basis by 1962, has ordered th a t fo r next year real p ro p e rty be appeased at »0 per cent o f tru e cash value In stead o f the 80 per cent th a t has prevailed fo r the past few years. Personal pro p e rty has been va lu ed at 100 per cent o f, tru e cash value fo r some time. For years p ro p e rty has been valued at a fig u re much below the actual Value fo r assessment purpose«. T hat has been done fo r p o litica l reasons, because it makes a taxpayer feel good to know th a t he is g e ttin g a lo w va lu a tion and assessors h aw been glad to do It.
