Balzer Mr. and Mrs. Elm er Hall, who spent several weeks here w ith her brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Olds left Saturday fo r Portland to visit his brother be fore returning to their home in Yucaipa, California. Gary Schilling, a student at the I ’niversity of Oregon at Eugene, spent the weekend here w ith his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schill- A ing. He left Sunday accompanied by Mrs. Walter K indt, who re turned to her home in Eugene af ter spending about ten days here w ith her mother, Mrs. W. F. Schilling. Mrs. Olan Stark and Mrs. W. D. Harnett were In The Dalles Mon day to 'v is it Mrs. Bertha Matthes. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clodfelter were business visitors in Port land Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. A. A. Dunlap, Mrs. Verne Mobley and Mary and Dyann Kayser of Centerville, Wn., went to Klamath Falls Saturday to the OT1 home coming. Verne Mobley Jr. is a student at OTI. They also visited an uncle of Mrs. Dunlap’s, Oscar Haynes, returning Sunday’ Mr. and Mrs. W illiam B rin ke rt had as weekend guests Mr. and Mrs. Frank Caroon 0/ Portland. Mr. and Mrs. John Alley and son were dinner guests there Satur day evening. Mrs. I. D. Pike of Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pike of Rose burg and Mrs. Ralph Lister of Hayward, Calif., were over night visitors here Saturday, going to The Dalles Sunday to meet the rest of the fam ily and to attend the fuperal of I. D. Pike at Spen cer & Libby Memorial chapel on, Monday. A number of Grass Valley peo ple went to The Dalles Monday to attend the funeral services fo r I. D. Pike. The Grass Valley Rebekah lodge No. 118 met at the IOOF hall Thursday afternoon at a special meeting when Mrs. Mary Barker, president of the Rebekah Assem bly of Oregon paid her official visit. Mrs. Marie Brady, noble grand, presided w ith 21 members and four visitors, Mrs. Maggio Barnum and May Broun of Moro, Mrs. Selma W atkins of Wasco and Mrs. Barker present. Mrs. Barker was introduced by her oolor bear er of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon, Mrs. W illard Barnett and Mrs. T. M. Rolfe and Mrs. Eben Kee. Mrs. Barker was called on for a talk and was presented w ith a corsage by the noble grand and given a letter of Introduction for a treasure hunt. For the good of the Order Mrs. W illard Rolfe and Mrs. Claud Bayer sang the presl- dent's. song “ A Smile W ill Go a Long. Long W b y R e fre s h m e n ts were served by Mrs. Claud Bayer and Mrs. Alfred Payne. Mr. and Mrs. Keith DeCourcey and fam ily of The Dalles visited Sunday at the Carl von Borstel and George von Borstel homes. Bud Kock, B ill Pausch and F ritz Rohweder were among those going to Gresham Wednes day to attend the funeral of the form er’s grandmother, Mrs. Chris tina Kock. Floyd Garland jot Lyle, Wn., spent last Tuesday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Len Garland. Mrs. Charles Guyton of Sher wood spent Mom ay night as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Davis. Wednesday evening six mem bers of the Grass Valley Rebekah lodge visited the Moro Rebekah lodge when the president Mrs. Mary Barker paid her official visit. Mrs. Frank E. Bayer and Mrs. Claud Bayer were hostesses at a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Bayer last Mon day evening honoring the b irth days /Qf Julia and David Bayer. Guests in luded Frank E. Bayer, Byron and Helen, ( ’laud Bayer and Kim , Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Jones of Moro and Mrs. Josephine Parkhurst of Kent. Mr. and Mrs. George von Bur- stel and family took hen mother, Mrs. B ill Johnson to The Dalles last Tuesday when she left for her home In Portage. Mark Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Reynolds, celebrated his rocond birthday In The Dal les Sunday w ith his sisters, Julie, Debbie and Shelley and his grand parents, Mr. an«, Mrs. D. L Rey nolds. Refreshments of birthday cake and Ice cream were served by the hostess w ith favors for the children. George Wilde of Portland and and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wegener of The Dalles were guests Sun day at the W illard Rolfe home. Mrs. Guyton went home w ith Mrs. von Borstel to v is it u n til Thurs day when she went to The Dalles w ith Mr. and Mrs. Len Garland and returned to her home in Sher wood. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Owens had as dinner guests Sunday honoring th eir daughter, Carol, on her 11th birthday, Mr. and Mrs. W illard Barnett and Keith, Mrs. W. D.
