Report is that Dewey Thomp son is getting along well in a hos pital in Portland although the op eration was long and he is doing without his pancreas. The Rebekahs met Tuesday night for the last meeting before harvest. The next meeting will be held the evening of September Moro Persoiyls All friends are cordialy in vited to a reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Henry John Jaeger, Sunday afternoon July 1 from two until five at the Ralph Eakin home in Gilliam county. A drivers license examiner will be on duty in Moro Tuesday, July 3, at the court house between the hours of 10 a. m. and 3 P m. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Shoemak er and children moved into the old J. M. Perry house which they recently bought from Frank Mul len who left Thursday night for Edmonton, Canada, to live. Mrs. Anna Moore and Mrs. Collis Moore went to Portland Tuesday where Mrs. Collis Moore expected to attend the Multnamoh county Republican meeting that night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones and sons of Portland were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Barnum and visited briefly with other relatives while here. 11. Mrs. Loy Cochran went to Port land Wednesday accompanying Mr. and Mrs. E*>en Kee. Lester Barnum went to Port land-Wednesday to keep an ap pointment Thursday with his eye doctor. The four Woods girls left Wed nesday morning for Suttle lake to spend a few days camping out. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thomp son were at Palo Alto last week to attend the commencement exer cises of Stanford university when his sister, Jeannine, graduated from the school of history. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bnedwell arrived Wednesday from Tacoma where they spent about two weeks packing their household goods for shipment here. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peters and family arrived Saturday from Colma, Calif., to visit her sister, Mrs. Kenneth Crews and family. Mr. Peters left Monday for Seat tle on business for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. George von Bor stel and daughter went to Park- dale Sunday to spend a few days visiting her brother, Bill Johnson and family and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson, who will leave Tuesday for their home in Portage, Penn., after spending several weeks here visiting rela tives. Mr and Mrs. I>en Garland re ceived a letter from their son, Howard, with the air force in North Africa, that he spent a week on furlough in London but is back in Africa and will 1* back at Forbes air base in Kansas in about a month. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Jibson and daughter of Washougal, Wlash., spent tihe ’weekend visiting her brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. A. von Borstel. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McMillin and daughter, Barbara, arrived Thursday from DeRider, La., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Davis. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Davis* at Condon. Mr. and Mrs Bud Kock of An chorage, Alaska, are the parents of a son, ’Stephen Henry, born June 19, weight 6 lbs. 121 oz. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kock of Grass Valley and Mr and Mrs. Henry Ten Eyck of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jones of Forest Grove spent the weekend visiting at the Owen Eakin and E. R.
