As an ex perim ent It is w orth watching. This y ear ra in is falling ev e ry w here in Oregon. The official re port show's th e rainfall up to Ju n e 1 w hen every sta tio n in Oregon showed a trem endous in crease fo r the crop year from Sep- tem lier 1. .Moro had 14.91 ag ain st a norm al of 10.20 (and has re ceived 1.74 since) K lam ath has 16.90 instead of 11.65, I>akevlew hud 18.43 against 12.65. O ver on the coast N ew port got 89.53 com pared to 61.57 w hich is norm al, E ugene 52.90 Instead of 35.50 and Medford 32.6 Instead of 16.82. T he differences a re huge r u n ning up t o alm ost 100 percen t in crease in som e places and 50 p e r cent in m ost of th e o thers. It would lie hard for any w eather m odification com pany to prove m uch of an y th in g in such a year. W e have had 15 such y ears now and th is is th e lftt'h. We do not th in k the w ea th er is changing or th a t the m ountains have ix?en low ered for o u r benefit. W e do think th a t o u r added rainfall has l>een stric tly accidental and th a t the tren d will change som etim e. We then may get 15 d ry y ears al though no one know s an y th in g about that. O ur average increase In the 15 y ears has l»een aliout tw o inches a y ea r and th at Is a lot In a dry farm ing area.
