HINTS FDR HOUSEKEEPERS If caring for the bouse and family leaves you fagged at the end of the day, It may be that you need to streamline ways of doing household jobs. According to Hallene Price, home management specialist at OSC, women spend from 7 to 10 hours a day in and around the home caring for the bouse and family. To help save energy, work and time, she offers these hints: Cut down ironing time by fold ing clothes as they come from the line or dryer. Wrinkles In un derwear, pillow cases, tea towels, tee-shirts and pajamas can be smoothed out by hand. Put laun dered sheets back on beds instead of apendng time in folding them. Let dishes air-dry on a rack. If they’re scalded well with hot water, they’ll dry quickly. Arrange your cleaning so that you can clean “spare rooms” less often than tihe rest of the house. Call children once in the morn ing rather than many times. This may take some extra guid ance, explains Miss Price, but It may help save wear and tpar on mother. Make full use of your electrical appliances. The mixer might be used to mash potatoes; the freez er used to store extra quantities of foods that can be prepared at one time. In cooking use small pieces of kitchen equipment such as a peel er to clean carrots and potatoes, tongs to handle hot foods, house hold scissors for cutting up vege tables. When making biscuits or cook ies use the “drop” method. No rolling pin or cutter Is necessary, Beefo’s at the Capitol City We’ll let the new Richfield station across the street fill up the cars and welcome. We’ll fill up the passengers.
