Word has been received that Rev. and Mrs. Earl Hastings have been called to the pastorate of the F irst Christian church a t Nyssa, Oregon. They moved from their home near The Dalles to Nyssa Wednesday. Mrs. Edgar Justesen motored to Portland Saturday to meet her husband, Pvt. Edgar Justesen who flew to Portland from F ort Ord, California. He will be home two weeks before returning to Fort Ord w here he will attend school. Mrs. Tate Justesen and grand daughter Jana Lou Justesen of Tygh Valley were visitors at the A rthur and H arry Justesen homes Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Emmet Richards of Van couver, Wn., .spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Helyer to visit her daughter, Miss Colleen O’Hara. Mr. and Mrs. Norris Gilkison of Grass Valley were visitors Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Larimer. Mrs. W ilbur Ju n k er underw ent a major operation at the North West hospital at Minneapolis, Minnesota Saturday. Roll call was answered with the name of each m em ber’s favorite pie. The spe cial feature of the meeting was a sponge cake dem onstration by K aten and Nancy Wilson with each baking a cake anil the mem bers judging their work. Nancy will bake a sponge cake at the state F air and K aren will bake bread. After the club meeting the group went sw im m ing in t+ie pool. Refreshm ents were ice cream, punch and the dem onstration sponge cakes. Those present were Peggy McKay, Linda Helyer, Bon nie Tatum, Judy Maclnnes, Mary Ann McKay, Erin, Karen anil Nancy Wilson, Mrs. M argaret Mob ley, club leader, and K rista Mob ley, Mrs. Jay M Kay, Mrs. Donald Maclnnes and children, John, Malcolm, Betsy and Niel, Mrs. Ro- lx?rt Helyer, Miss Doris Jackson, and Mrs. L uther Davis and son, Jim. Donald M aclnnes brought Sunday m orning message at Presbyterian church in Moro, was accompanied by Mrs. Innes and the children. Mrs .John Decker and daughter, Nancy, Kay McKay and Betty Sears of Red Bluff, Calif., left Monday m orning for Cannon Beach to attend the youth confer ence. Clifton Ross of Salem was an overnight guests Monday at the home of his nephew’ and niece Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Norton. W arren Norton of Monmouth arrived Friday for a few days visit at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Norton. They and George Howell were visitors Sun Jay afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sather. Moro. Robert Smith, son of Mrs. Noel Smith of The Dalles, came T hurs day for a visit with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wilson. Roy H arbin of Portland stopped for a short visit at the Ijester Wilsons Thursday as he was re turning to his home. He had been helping at the Carl Schadewitz ranch.
