A reception was held at their home in St. Johns following the ceremony. After the bridal couple cut the first piece of the three tiered wedding cake It was cut by his aunt and served by her sister, Mrs. Raven. Mrs. George Reach, aunt of the bride presided at the coffee urn. Those attending from Grass Val ley were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rust, her grand par ents, Mr and Mrs. H. O. Dugger, Mr. and Mrs.- Bert Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rust and Mr. and Mrs. Rill Brlnkert. Mrs. Kendrick Dunlap of Moro was hostess to the Tuesday even ing bridge club at her home with three tables In play. Mrs. Walter Davis held high, Mrs. Arzell Ix’ tn- Jey second and Mrs. C. R. Antler- sen low. Mrs. Frank Ketter won the traveling prize and Mrs. Har ry Hooper won the prize for the first 100 honors. Others present were Mrs. Robert Schilling, Mrs. John Rust, Mrs. Earl Olds, Mrs. Paul Syron, and Mrs. Opal Park ins and Mrs. Bob Marvin of Moro. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stradley and family, Mr. and Mrs. K. R. Blay lock and Mr and Mrs. Boyce Blay lock and children, went to The Dalles Faster Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sawtell and family. Barbara Blaylock came home with her parents after spending the weekend with her cousin, Sharon Sawtell. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Blagg and Mr. and Mrs. Clair Balzer of Moro drove to Pendleton Sunday and K|>ent Faster with Jimmy Blagg and family. The VFW auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. John Rust last Monday evening with Mrs. Clalf Balzer, Mrs. Gerald Blagg, Mrs. Ralph Busse, and Mrs. Jack Nop’- nan of Moro and Mi s. Bill Alsup Of Grass Valley present. Mrs. Balzer, president, presided. Rust, chaplain and Mrs. Noonan, guard. Refreshments were served. Jim Jones returned home Sat urday from Portland Where he s|>ent several days in the hospital for medical attention. FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 1955 The Grass Valley Rebekah ledge No. 118 met at the 1OOF hall Wed nesday evening for Ils regular meeting. Mrs. Don Smith, noble grand, presided with 18 present. Plans were made for a food sale to be held April 15. Mrs. Willard Harnett served cake and coffee at the close. The next meeting will l>e held April 20 and will be a par- ty night for mem tiers with birth days or anniversaries in April. Mrs. Paul Syron was hostess to the bridge club Thursday with a one o’clock luncheon followed by cards at three tables. Mrs. Clair Adams held high, Mrs. Eben Kee second and Mrs. Donald Clodfelter low. Others present were Mrs. Max Hrown, Mrs. Ted Kelly, Mrs. Roy Schilling, Mrs. Arzell I atti - ley, Mrs. Sadie Alley, Mrs. Her man Peters, Mrs. A. F. Balzer and Mrs. Opal Parkins of Moro. Mr and Mrs. A. F. Balzer went |O Portland Friday and spent the Easter weekend at the home of their son, Ralph Balzer and family. .Mr. and Mrs. John Rolfe spent Faster Sunday in Bend with her aunt and uncle. Mrs. Pearl Garrett came home from The Dalles Wednesday after spending 12 weeks In the hospital for medical attention. Her sister Mrs. Maud Beven.s of Bend came Wednesday and will stay with her for a while. Members of Sherman chapter No. 132 met at the Masonic hail last Tuesday evening for a regular meeting. Mrs. Vernon Fakln, wor thy matron, presided. Refresh ments of nut bread sandwiches, jello and coffee were served at the close by Mrs. Wallace May, Mr. and Mrs. Donald von Bor- stel and family went to The Dal les Sunday where they attended Faster services at St. Paul’s Epis copal church. They also visited his uncle, Amandus von Borste’ at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank von Borstel went to The Dalles Friday to visit his brother, Amandus von Borstel at the hospital and on to Portland on business and to visit his moth er, Mrs. C. von Borstel at Glad stone before returning home.
