Mrs. Sophia Dodson is now in Hood River caring for Mrs. J. E. Slade who is elderly and ill. Howard Belshee and wife drove up from The Dalles Monday on a short business trip. Howard says he is feeling much better now and will be alright in the spring. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin VanGilder and Mr. and Mrs. I>oy Cochran went to Portland Friday for a day in the city and medical attention. Mrs. Maggie Barnum left Mon day morning for a trip to Califor nia, going with Mrs. May Barnum, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kunsman and Mrs. Monroe, Mrs. May Barnum’s nurse. They expect to be home by Easter Sunday. The Moro Missionary society plans to meet at the home of Mrs. Dewey Thompson Thursday, Apr. 14 at 2 p. m. Born: To Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Alberty at Newberg, Thursday, April 7, a 7 lb. 3 oz. son. The Al- bertys are parents of a 13 year old daughter. Announcement has been receiv ed of the golden wedding anni versary of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Pape on Monday, April 11, at the Christian Assembly church at 4625 S. E. 67th Ave. in Portland. Many old timers know Mr. and Mrs. Pape very well. The new city street lighting equipment was put in place Wed nesday and turned on that night. Five new mercury vapor lamps and some additional 10,000 watt bulbs make the Main street light er after dark. Coach Jerry Disch went to Salem last week end with a group of boys organized in relay squads. They won 13% points during the afternoon. Among those going were Norman Fridley, M. Fridley, R.
